Are you an online coach or a female business owner looking to skyrocket your revenue? If so, then a tripwire funnel could be your secret weapon. Adding this strategy into your business is can help you multiple your profit and upsell on autopilot.

Tripwire offers are exceptionally powerful, delivering both immediate results and long-term benefits. Why, you ask? Well, it’s simply easier to get someone to invest in your products and programs once they’ve already taken that initial step and made a purchase or opted in to your lead magnet.

So, let’s dive into how to create a compelling tripwire page tailored specifically to the needs of online coaches and female entrepreneurs. Here are the five essential elements you need to include:

A Juicy Lead Magnet

As an online coach or female business owner, your tripwire funnel should kick off with a bang.

While traditional tripwire funnels drive visitors directly to a tripwire offer, most online businesses have switched to using a 2-step tripwire to increase conversions. This approach starts by inviting your audience to grab your free lead magnet before you “pitch” your lead with your tripwire offer.

When creating your juicy lead magnet there are two things you must consider to attract future customers and clients with ease:

  1. Your lead magnet must speak to the pain points of your ideal audience and offer them a concrete solution. This not only captures their attention but positions you as the expert they can look to get them to the outcome they desire.
  2. Your lead magnet must be relevant to your paid tripwire. If you want to make sales using a tripwire funnel, it is important to attract leads who would be interested in the offer you are selling. Your opt-in lead magnet must complement your tripwire offer. If your tripwire offer teaches your ideal customer how to “create passive income online” you don’t want your tripwire offer to be about “self-care.” Likewise, if your tripwire offer is an online course, your juicy lead magnet could be a free webinar that serves as an intro to whatever the course is about.

A Value-Packed Tripwire Offer

Now that you’ve created a juicy lead magnet, what’s the next step? The next step is to create a tripwire offer that is simply too good to resist!

Your tripwire offer should wow the socks off of your audience. It should not only exceed their expectations, it should provide them with a unique experience they can only get from you. If you want to make sales with your tripwire, it is imperative you provide a high-quality, low-cost product or service that’s directly related to your signature offering. This acts as a bridge between your lead magnet and your main coaching or business services, making the next step seem almost irresistible.

When done right, a value-packed tripwire offer will push your connection with potential clients into high gear. Instead of waiting for weeks or months to nurture your prospects through a typical welcome (nurture) email sequence, a tripwire can fast-track your customer’s desire to purchase from you right away.

But this only works if your tripwire offer is so irresistible that your customers can’t help but make an immediate purchase for fear of missing out (FOMO).

The Perfect Price

I know I know, picking the perfect price can be a pain in the butt, but it is something that needs to be done and done right especially for your tripwire offer!

Your goal is to price your tripwire offer correctly so it’s a win-win for everyone. You get paid and your customers feel like they’re getting a deal. They almost come away feeling like they stole something!

Again, a tripwire is designed to generate an immediate sale, so the higher the perceived value and the lower the price, the better your chance of converting a new subscriber into a customer! But with that said, you want to make sure that you are not giving away the farm. If you lower the price too much, you could actually be leaving money on the table and undercutting your profits just for the sake of getting a sale.

Create Engaging Copy

To sell your tripwire you want to craft compelling copy (these are the words on your tripwire sales page) and use the power of storytelling to connect with your audience on a personal level. Highlight the pain points of your ideal audience, what they stand to lose if they don’t fix their problem and position your offer as the solution to their problems.

Masterful copy means sharing your own journey as an online coach or female entrepreneur, sharing transformation and testimonials from current or past customers, and highlighting the transformation you can achieve for your future clients. The language you use, how to speak to your audience and the tone all matter. Your copy not only builds trust but also conveys the value of your tripwire offer.

A Clear Call-to-Action (CTA)

Your audience can’t and won’t buy from you if you don’t give them clear instructions to do so. I know this may sound obvious but you will be surprised by how many coaches and small business owners to do ask for the sale. You want to make it as easy as possible for people to say YES to you. This means your tripwire page should have a clear and enticing call-to-action. CTA words and buttons include phrases like “Join now”, “Buy Now” or “Get Started Now”. The CTA should be prominently displayed and strategically placed on the page so their is no confusion about what you want your audience to d next.

A Sense of Urgency

What’s the last and most important component of a high-converting and profitable tripwire page is to bake in urgency!  A tripwire offer is, by design, an offer that is only available for a limited time. It’s something the potential customer will only get one shot at purchasing at a highly discounted price.

You can urge them to take action by building a sense of urgency and clearly showing how much of a discount the tripwire offer is saving the customer. To drive urgency and encourage our audience to act fast on our limited-time offers, we use Deadline Funnel to activate countdown timers that we use in our emails and on our tripwire sales pages to help us increase conversions and boost revenue.

Using words like “limited-time offer”, “only available for 48 hours”, “flash sale” or “savings expire soon” reminds the customer that this is a limited-time offer that they can’t take forever to act on.

A tripwire funnel holds the potential to rapidly increase your leads while also giving you valuable insights into what your audience needs and wants.
