7 Reasons WHY You Must Become The Go-To Authority In Your Niche

May 10, 2012 No comments yet

authority on your nicheWhy must you become the go-to authority in you niche or industry?

Simple answer…

If you don’t someone else will…so it might as well be you, right?

Absolutely!

” When you undervalue what you do, the world will undervalue who you are!” – Oprah

If you’ve been scraping along in your business and find you are not respected, not getting the attention you deserve, or making the money you want to make, it’s probably not because you don’t know you stuff…it’s probably because you are doing a poor job of putting yourself in a position of power and authority.

Why Must You Become The Go-To Authority In Your Niche Anyways?

1. More Influence:

Who doesn’t like to be influential? Who doesn’t want to pay attention to the authority in your niche?  It is much easier to make an impact when you can be heard and people take action as a result. Imagine having a platform to reach hundreds, thousands or even millions of people with your words, your ideas, your message?

2. More Recognition:

When you are everywhere, on Facebook, on blogs, in media, in magazine, at LIVE speaking events, on webinars, etc, etc, your reputation precedes you. People begin to equate your name as a successful authority in your niche even before they’ve heard you say anything. The just automatically think, if this person is everywhere they must be in demand!

3. More Clients:

When you are recognized as an expert, chasing prospect becomes a thing of the past. Your ideal client will be hunting you down…They will be the type of client/customer/prospect that can afford your services or products and will happily pay the fees you command because they feel comfortable investing in you because you know your stuff.

If you are consider yourself an”expert” in your niche but not getting the clients or money you should, take a look at your marketing message. A clear message = money. Making sure you can communicate your message to your target audience will immediately attract the type of clients you want to work with.

4. Less Selling:

If you are an entrepreneur, consultant or marketer, you are in the game of sells. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You are not only selling your products and services you are constantly selling yourself as well to potential clients, but as an authority in your niche, you are more teaching, less selling, but probably making more money than the sleazy, manipulative, salesman going for the hard close all the time.

When you are an expert, you don’t have to force people to buy. Your job is to educate them, so they can make the best decision. If you become great at educating people, showing them the benefits and the transformations that will come as a result of investing in you, you’ll never have to sell again.

5. Less Work:

As an authority in your field you don’t have to rely on gimmicks, tricks and magic bullets to build a successful business. As an expert you have the confidence that your systems and strategies are going to for the most part work as well today as they will 2, 5, 10 years from now. While technology and trends change, an authority can adapt because their foundations principles and concepts are timeless.

This leads to less work. You don’t have to keep reinventing yourself or wasting your time trying to figure out the latest gimmick. You create info-products, programs and systems that stand the test of time.

6. More Money:

Charges less money than the gurus or lowering your fees to compete is not the way to build your business. In fact, it’s the fastest way to work yourself out of business. As an authority in your niche, clients expect to pay more. Own your worth. If you want to be paid your value, be confident in your expertise.

Low value equates to low-quality and is often an indication of an inability to deliver.

7. More Success

Long term success comes from happy customers. Happy customers mean more referrals and more repeat transactions. It is important to nurture your leads, continue developing relationships with your subscribers and following up with buying customers.

These 7 reasons should give you a better understanding as to why you MUST become the go-to authority in your niche. It begins and ends with you, having the courage to step out in confidence and own your expertise. You are unique and no matter how many people may be in the same or similar niche, no one can do your business like you!

7 Questions to Getting Testimonials that Boost Business

Whether you are a small home business or large corporation, the power of testimonials can do wonders to create buzz and momentum for your brand. Testimonials are extremely important for your business.

Why?

Testimonials give credibility.  Testimonials are social proof. Testimonials address concerns and answer questions that may keep a potential customer from buying your product or service.

Especially for small businesses building online, providing strong testimonials to prospects can be the difference between success and failure. People want to buy from people they know, like and trust…and when a buyer knows that other people are using, purchasing, enjoying and having success with your products it makes it 100 times easier to move your prospect to a buying decision.

Don’t be shy about asking for a good testimonial to be used in your small business marketing. If you’ve never asked a client or colleague for a testimonial before follow these 7 simple questions to create powerful testimonials that boost business.

  1. What hesitations did you have about purchasing our product?
  2. What changes have you noticed in your business since buying our [name of your product or service]? (quantifiable)
  3. What specific feature did you like best about our product or service?
  4. How have you benefited from our product or service?
  5. Would you recommend our product or service?  If so, why?
  6. Is there anything else you would like to add?
  7. Would you be willing to submit a 15 -30 second video testimonial?

Once you have asked for the testimonial how do you use it to boost your business sales and profits. Here are 13 quick tips to making your testimonials count:

  • Add their name, location, profession or website and a photo.
  • Add a powerful headline or title to your testimonial.
  • Bold key words for impact.
  • Ask for testimonials while your customer is using your product or service.
  • Add links to your testimonials within blog posts, newsletters and marketing media
  • Ask other small business owners if they’ll swap testimonials with you.
  • Encourage your customers to use their testimonials as a way to showcase how your product, service, employees or cause helped make their life easier.
  • Use those Flip cameras to easily record video testimonials of your customers praise. You can then upload the testimonials to a YouTube page, or your Web site and blog.
  • Create a dedicated testimonials page on your Web site or blog where people can see a number of testimonials on one page
  • Use social media as a way to get testimonials and create engagement: Share your testimonials on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Speaking of social media, make sure you are regularly looking for testimonials about your business on Facebook and other social networks. Highlight or pin any testimonials to your Facebook Page. Also take a screen shot and save testimonials about your small business for further use.
  • Get permission to use testimonials: Always try to get permission from your customer if you plan on using their testimonial in other marketing literature like videos.
  • Offer freebies on great testimonials: Customers give you testimonials because you provide value to their lives. Show your appreciation and take care of them even more so that they continue to advocate for you and rave about your business. It’s not about bribing them to say good things, it’s about creating a long-term relationship based on value.

Personal Brand: The Most Important Factor of Likability

May 5, 2011 No comments yet

The ability to create a personal brand that people come to know, like and trust is essential to your online business success. There are a number of different components that allow your readers, customers and prospects to feel like they “know you” but here is  one thing you can do to establish the “likability factor” that can help you boost sales and explode your business relationships.

The Most Important Factor To Creating A Personal Brand People Know, Like and Trust

A picture is worth a thousand words or should I say a thousand bucks. The photograph you choose to use to represent your personal brand as an entrepreneur can be the difference between establishing trust or turning people off.

When you are building an online business, it is critical to make a good first impression. You may only have one shot to connect with someone. Be aware of the fact that most people are going to be skeptical of you. Your photograph makes you a real person and it helps your blog readers, social media followers and forum friends get to know you and like you. Your photo can also help establish a sense of trust and credibility. If you do not have a photo that exudes professionalism, personality and one that resonates with your target market, you are in danger of killing your personal brand before any one really gets a chance to know what you are all about.

Using Your Photo To Build Your Personal Brand

Having a photo that gives people a glimpse into who you are and what they can expect from you is very important in an industry where you are doing everything you can to separate yourself from the masses. A photo gives people an instant feel for who you are, your personality, it gives clues to your success and it increases your likability.

Tips For A Great Photo For Your Personal Brand

  • Use a professional photo that is clean, clear and shows your face. Do not use a photo that has multiple people in it so your viewers have to guess as to which person is you. Don’t use a photo where your face is far away . Don’t use a photo of your company product, or logo, your kids or your pets.
  • When you are branding yourself and creating a killer social media profile that is going to get attention online choose one or two photos and use them on all of your social media accounts. You want to make sure your brand stays consistent and cohesive throughout Facebook, Twitter, and all of the other social platforms. This way, people know that your message and vision is the same across the Internet.
  • Use gravatar.com and set up a FREE account so that you can upload a photo that shows up on the comments you make on other blogs.

Your photo is your online signature, what people will recognize and come to associate with trust, credibility and value. If you are able to provide all of this and more, your photo will become a mark of approval. Something as simple as the photo you use can make all of the difference in building trust with your followers and subscribers, and it is a simple way to enhance your personal branding results to ensure you represent in a way that promotes expertise, power and authority in your online marketing efforts.

Remember, the riches are in the details and it’s those little things that can make all of the difference to your readers so that they feel they can know, like and trust you!

If you enjoyed this post, learned something new, or have some feedback to share, please comment below and share it on Facebook and Twitter!

3 Ways To Start Marketing Yourself (Or Your Opportunity) Online

April 18, 2011 2 comments

TODAY, I wanted to get down to the “nitty gritty” and discuss the nuts and bolts of building your business online. I wanted to give you a few very simple but crucial steps so you can start marketing yourself online. (If you’re not marketing yourself online already.)

As a network marketer or Internet entrepreneur, the sole purpose of marketing yourself online building your brand is not to become a celebrity or guru. The secret is to love what you do and share it with the online community…they will do the work of making you a celebrity if what you provide is worthy!

(Someone asked my would I continue doing what I am doing tomorrow if I was to win the lottery today. Absolutely. I love what I do…and you should love whatever it is you are doing as well.

I get questions almost every day from people who “discovered” what I do online and want to know how they can build an additional stream of income.

I’ve been in the game long enough to know that Internet Marketing is a minefield for newbies. Most people do not realize just how much it takes to start marketing yourself (or your opportunity) online and how to do it right so it is effective. In an effort to help make sure my team members and email subscribers didn’t waste their time or invest in “rubbish” I started providing them with my own personal “checklist” of what it really takes to make it online:

My Own Personal Checklist For Marketing Online:

1) Traffic: You must be able to drive web traffic to your blog, website or sales message. There is no way to make money online, if no one sees your awesome opportunity or value-packed content. There is a misconception that if you put it on the Internet people will find you. This is not the case by a long shot. You have to let people know you are there, you have to effectively implement techniques that attract people to you. This can be as simple as paying for ad or banner space online or as complicated as becoming a SEO Marketing genius, or Pay-Per-Click professional.

2) Conversion: You must be able to convert that web traffic into actual sales or cash.  What are you doing to pique interest, to entice the prospect so they want to learn more and will be willing to opt-in to your sales funnel to get that info. This can be as simple as a five minute video that explains your opportunity or  you  as in-depth as creating a sales letter page using tools like Optimizepress.

3) Product: You must have something to sell! This can be as simple as presenting your opportunity, an ebook or written report that reveals the secrets of recruiting online, or as complicated as a 7 disc video training course.

In short, you need: 1) People to see your simple message 2) An effective sales message that converts visitors into leads 3) A product that delivers and provides value. It’s what I like to call the irresistible offer. You are giving them so much value for such a great price that they have no other option but to buy from you! That’s it, that’s all. Simple as apple pie right?!

To conclude, the easiest, fastest and most effective way to start marketing yourself online is to start offering a product you absolutely love to people you already know.

These people can be the men and women in your downline, your Twitter followers and Facebook friends or your readers if you have a website or blog that you update on a consistent basis — it’s really up to you!

Another way to promote your brand and business opportunity is through the idea know as a “funded proposal.” This is where you offer your leads a low cost or even FREE product to get them on your email list while advertising your opportunity and sponsoring new reps on the back end. It’s called a funded proposal because when it’s done right your advertising will quite literally pay for itself…

It may even become your primary income stream. I have many network marketer friends who have stepped out of networking because they have had such great success with selling their own products. I am always a proponent of selling your own information products but I prefer the idea of having multiple streams of income and I wouldn’t stop doing anything that was profitable to do.

Whatever you decide to focus on, make sure it is something you like, something you have a passion for and do it to the best of your ability.

If you would like to learn more about marketing yourself or your opportunity online then I strongly urge you to get yourself a FREE copy of Internet Marketing Success Secrets – The 7 Step Process To Building A 6-Figure Network Marketing Business On The Internet

How To Create A Killer Social Media Profile That Gets Attention

April 9, 2011 2 comments

create socia lmedia profileThe key to creating a magnetic profile on any social media network is about establishing a powerful connection with your prospect or viewer. I want to guide you through the key components to putting together a killer social profile that will attract people to you and get them to read, connect and want to click over to your blog or website to learn more about you.

1. Make A Good First Impression

When someone lands on your social media profile, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter or Digg.com, know that the very first thing they are going to do is skim through your page for anything that stands out or looks interesting.  On any network the best way to grab someone’s attention is with your profile picture. If you’ve ever heard the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” it couldn’t be more true than on your social media profile page. You want to visually convey what the life of a successful entrepreneur looks like. A picture immediately lets the visitor know you are a real person and it gives them clues as to the type of person you are.

When creating your social media profile page remember that this is the very first time people are meeting you so you will want to make sure it is some compelling, unique and that shows your personality. Let people know you are a real person,  have fun with your profile, but always make sure to keep things professional! You don’t want to have a picture of your dog or a company logo or even a group picture where someone can’t figure out who YOU are. Stay away from anything that distracts a visitor from wanting to read more about you.

2. Establish Credibility

Why should anyone listen to you? Once you have build rapport with your visitor, the very next step is to let them know why they should pay attention. A great way to do this is by stating that you are “the creator”  or “the author” or “the owner” of something.

For example, “My name is Andrea Bolder and I am at the creator and author of The Gold Medal Marketer Blog – a site dedicated to helping network marketers, internet marketing and small business owners win the olympics of online marketing.”

You have immediately established yourself as someone who is serious, credible and knowledgeable about your niche. You are telling people you are an authority by having ownership of something important. They are going to be curious to know what it is that you do and want to know more about what you’ve created.

We all know that socially those that have the title author of owner next to their name carry more weight and are perceived as more credible than someone who does not hold that distinction. Position yourself as some who knows what they are talking about.

Note: Whenever you are talking about something you’ve created make sure there is an URL link back to your site. You always want to attach a call to action and encourage the viewer to take the next step. That may direct them to visit your blog, a capture page, or a sales page where you may be offering a special report, a FREE video bootcamp series or an eBook and it’s a great opportunity to capture that visitor as a lead while they are HOT on you.

3. Let Them Know What They Can Expect From You

When starting your ‘About Me” section, you are going to want to let the visitor know exactly what it is that they can come to expect from you, the type of value you represent and what your brand stands for. Here’s an example:

“If you are interested in learning more about how The Gold Medal Marketer Blog can help you get the results you are looking for in your online business, well I’ve got something great in store for you. You see, I’ve recently had some phenomenal success and I want to share some of my strategies with you. But. before we get into that, let me tell you a little bit more about myself…”

What you’ve done is given them a taste of things to come. You want your prospect to know what they can get out of the deal if they continue reading but at the same time you are building a personal connection with them by sharing your story. You want to be open, candid and honest about who you are. Don’t be afraid to tell them about

How you overcame adversity or struggle to get to where you are now
Why you chose the path of entrepreneurship
How you vision and mindset has changed along the way

To goal is to connect, to convey that you are genuine, real and just like them. It’s important to connect with people that have the similar interests, values, and dreams. The best way to build a successful and long-term business is to grow that business with people that are like you.

4. The Moment Your Life Changed

As you are sharing your story, give your visitor insight into the moment your life changed and you decided you wanted to be the captain of your own ship. Let them experience the moment you decided to take that entrepreneurial spirit and do something with it. This will be something your reader can relate to is experiencing themselves.

You’ll find that in network marketing, many of our stories are very similar:

How we got introduced to the industry…

The challenges and obstacles we faced…

How many of us where sick and tired of being sick and tired…

Your story could be the moment you realized corporate America was not giving you the lifestyle you desired and how much you hated the 9-5 rat race.

You can talk about overcoming the challenges of being an inner city, underprivileged child who never got the chance to go to college but decided to take your life in a different direction.

You can also talk about how you were already in the industry but hadn’t made a dime and you make some strategic changes to the way you ran your business.

Whatever event you choose to share, make sure the realness of that moment is conveyed to our reader.

5. Problem Solver

The next step to building a powerful profile story is to dig deep and talk about your trials and tribulations. You’ve shared your frustration, now you want to talk about what you’ve learned or encountered which led you having your own breakthrough or Ah Ha moment!

So in essence, you have presented your problem, you’ve described how you felt as you where going through your challenges and now you are telling people what you’ve discovered that has turned your business and life around. In some cases, discovering this blog and learning the strategies, tips and techniques I’ve taught has been the difference in many of my students businesses.

Tell your visitor about the things you’ve learned, provide value and information that is going to help them in their own business and share the results you’ve been able to produce.

6. Finding A Mentor

So you’ve shared your strategies, systems and techniques, but now is the time to give them insight into what has really taken your business to the next level. Connecting with a MENTOR. Now listen up, this is essential element to the development of your story because the entire goal of having that visitor click over to your site and become a lead is that eventually you want to become their coach or mentor.

By giving your reader the understanding that if they want to be successful, they need to do what successful people do, which is align themselves with a mentor, you are positioning yourself to be chosen as that mentor. Without being “pitchy” let them know you’ve recently created a FREE eBook or course and if they’d like to learn more about the marketing strategies and tactics you are currently using to grow you business, it may be something worth checking out.

Let them know you started at the bottom, just like they did but somewhere along the way you found someone you could trust that was willing to show you the right way to build a business. You’re not trying to “sell” them on you, you’re simply telling then what you did and letting them know that they have the same opportunity to take action just as you did.

8. A Powerful Call To Action

You’ve laid it all out on the line. You’ve shared where you started and where you are going. Now it’s time to instruct your reader on how they can continue learning from you and stay connected. Let them know how they can benefit from additional resources, tips and information if they visit your site, and opt-in by filling in their name and email address.

Also, make sure you tell your visitor to add you as a friend or connect with you on your FanPage or Group. It’s one of the advantages of social media. Invite people who come cross your social media profile to subscribe, join or become a part of your network and reward them with free training or coaching.

Always let your new social media friends know you are accessible and that they can reach you at anytime, that you are available to answer their questions. You may not see a flood of traffic back to your blog or website right off the bat, but stay engaged, stay connected and continue to share your story and great value.  Do these simple things and your story and success will continue to grow.

To your social media mastery,

Facts Tell, Stories Sell. The Power of Branding YOUR STORY In Internet Marketing

February 27, 2011 7 comments

creating your storyOne of the greatest story tellers of all time, Les Brown, once told me that the best sales people tell great stories. In general, stories are powerful. Have you ever heard the saying: “Facts Tell, Stories Sell.”

To really grab people’s attention you need to have a story. And not I’m talking about just any story, but a great story.

For me, it was building a massive online brand as the Gold Medal Marketer, replacing a corporate income so I could be able to stay home with my little 2 year old and live a life parallel to when I was a world class professional athlete – all in just a few short months.

If you were to ask me “Well tell me what you do?” and I said to you well, I’m a Internet marketer who makes money online with this company that’s really cool and it’s helping a lot of people, oh and it’s new to the US blah, blah, blah…would you still have the same interest? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

This is why creating your STORY is so important. You don’t have to flaunt how much money you’ve made or have insane numbers on how many people you brought into your business last month, as long as you are open and honest and tell the truth, people can relate to it and you can invite people to take a look at HOW you did it.

You want a story that people can remember you by. So how do you start to create your story?

Now, if you are new to online network marketing:

  1. The BEST thing you can do is find a mentor that can teach you how to achieve the success you desire.
  2. Implement a proven system that WORKS.
  3. COMMIT to following the system your mentor lays out for you (yes in this case Teacher knows best).
  4. Take MASSIVE action over the next 90 Days and I guarantee you’ll start seeing results (even if it’s just a small win!)
  5. DOCUMENT your success by writing and blog post or making a video about it and let your mentor know. If they are anything like me, they are going use the power of social media and tell everyone they know. They’ll make sure that your video or blog post erupts all over the Internet. Why? because it becomes a testimony. It helps create social proof that their system works and, most importantly for you…YOU’LL BE AN INTERNET MARKETING CELEBRITY. This is a great way to boost your brand, and have people start paying attention. The more you follow the advise and systems of your mentors and get results, the more exposure you’ll get. You become the real deal!

Now, if you are a network marketing vet:

  1. Take out a pen and pad (yes I’m saying go get one right now!) and write down your achievements. It doesn’t have to be long or drawn out. Just some great things you’ve accomplished so far as a network marketing professional.
  2. Where you able to recruit a certain number of people in a short amount of time? Did your leads increase when you started using video marketing as a lead generation strategy? Where you able to move up in rank in your company? Did your Alexa ranking drop from 1 million to under 67,000 in 30 days? Tell people about it! Let people know that if you can do it, they can do it too!

The more you can show people that you are consistently getting results, constantly getting better, they are going to want to know more about YOU and what you are doing and before you know it, you’ll have so many people following you and your story that you’ll be able to have the time and financial freedom I had for yourself…..it’s AMAZING!!

If you don’t have a system that works, click here NOW and get the EXACT Strategy I Use To Get 30+ Leads Daily Using FREE Internet Marketing Strategies. When you see results in a few days contact me and I’ll share your testimonial videos with THOUSANDS to help you get your name out there.

To creating a kick-butt story!

7 Steps To Building A Powerful Personal Brand Online

February 15, 2011 3 comments

build your brand onlineEstablishing yourself as THE expert in the Internet network marketing industry and mastering the ability to sell YOU is not an easy feat, nor does it happen overnight. But if you are committed to putting in some hard work and implementing a few smart strategies you can begin to build a powerful personal brand and online presence that can take you anywhere you want to go!!

I’ve been fortunate enough to experience building a personal brand online first hand, as The Gold Medal Marketer. I’ve learned a lot about what needs to happen to get to the point where people begin to take notice and mention your name when your niche is mentioned in a conversation.

Building a personal brand online is a not “a get rich quick” scheme and for many it takes months or even years to develop. Yes, it is for most a long term process but establishing a personal brand is essential to succeeding online. Some people don’t think you need to have a brand  outside of your network marketing business, but I would disagree with that. And that may be true in some other niches but in the network marketing industry where so many other network marketers are clambering for the same real estate,  having a recognizable brand is a sure way to stand out from the crowd.

The First Step To Building A Kick-Butt Brand

Before you can build a massive following of readers, subscribers, customers and fans, you’re going to need to gain their trust. Credibility is key to building a loyal following.

  • Would you give away your name and email address to someone you didn’t trust?
  • Would you give your time to someone who could not produce the solutions to your problems?
  • Would you pay for a product from a person who has no credibility?

Of course you wouldn’t!

Network marketers who have Kick-butt personal brands, succeed because they are credible they are trustworthy and they deliver as promised!

So the question is, how do you build trust?

The answer is fairly simple. People connect with other people they know, like and trust!. They are attracted to people with real stories, doing real things that help real people. People do not connect with business opportunities, websites or over-the-top offers. People connect with people! People connect with those they feel they have a relationship with. We hear this time and time again in our industry. People join you, not your business opportunity. People buy from you not the company!

We are all unique by design. Having different personalities, ideas and visions. You must be able to incorporate your own personality in you Internet marketing strategies. The real you must come through in your videos and your blog.  By being transparent and letting people get to know who you are, it accomplishes a couple of things:

  1. It makes you and your brand seem more real. The more real you can become online, the easier it is for people to know, like and trust you; and
  2. It helps you stand out from the competition, because no one (and I mean no one) is just like you.

Now, I am not telling you to spill your deepest, darkest secrets or share every single detail about your life, this  is not a documentary, but share bits and pieces of your life that can help you connect and build relationships with your audience. For example, people know that I was a professional athlete and I talk a lot about sports figures in my blog posts. I get so many comments from other network marketers who share the same passion for sports as I do. Talking about sports is one of many ways I am able to connect on a real and personal level with my readers.

Share Your Story

It is important to have a story! Why? Because people like stories, people listen to stories and it’s a way to captivate a viewer because they want to know what happens in the end. You’ll hear a lot of internet marketers tell you to build your story of success and leverage your story to engage others and get their attention. When building your brand a good story helps attract prospects, viewers, and leads because they’ll remember who you are!

Now how powerful is that!

Toby and Layla from Rockstar Marketing. Less than 2 years ago Toby and Layla didn’t have $40.00 to their name and were playing in a band, living in the basement of a bar. In a less than 12 Months they have mastered Internet Marketing and Branding Secrets and are now the #1 Recruiters in our Primary Business and Coach Mentor and Train thousands all over the World on how to brand themselves online.

Nicole Cooper, The Mail Box Money Queen, and creator of the 6 Figure Success Formula has a story. She went from being a successful Realtor, to a Bankrupt Realtor, homeless, depressed and on welfare to building an organization of over 10,000 reps in less than 10 months.

And Me, In a few short months I have built a massive brand as the Gold Medal Marketer by combining my winning mentality in Athletics with my entrepreneurial instincts. A track and field Gold Medalist in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, I bring an intense determination to this industry. I now coach and mentor Network Marketers across the globe on the most effective strategies for Branding and Marketing using the Internet.

Sharing your story with others helps them relate to your pain, your struggle, your success and your triumphs. They realize that if someone else can do it, then they can do it to! And you can.

Bring Value To The Table

You will never make more money that you are worth and your brand is only as good as the value and expertise you bring to the table. If you want to be the go-to person for information, then you must establish yourself as a reliable source for that knowledge ad this is how you can accomplish that:

Your Content

The content you share with the Internet marketing community represents you. You must consistently over-deliver on your promise to provide high quality and unique content that is useful and beneficial to your readers. People are always looking for information that will make their lives easier, that will solve their problems.

By consistently posting content people become to rely on you are a serious source of knowledge, ideas and opinions they can count on. Be confident in what you do. Know that you have the goods, and deliver!!

Online Real Estate

If you’ve heard any of my webinars or trainings on building a powerful brand online I often refer to Internet space as real estate. The more prime real estate you have the bigger your brand can become. The places you choose to deliver your content have a huge impact on the success of your brand.

  • Your Blog: Your blog is not just about sharing content. The design, look and feel of your blog or website can drastically change how people interact, consume and share your content. Your blog is like your house. If it is not well maintained, if it looks disorganized and unprofessional, don’t expect people to come back to visit you. Your blog is a direct reflection on you and you want it to be a reflect the expert you really are!
  • Your Social Media Sites: Carrying that professionalism across your social media profiles and pages lets the whole world know you are serious about what you are doing.
  • Videos, Articles and Blog Talk Radio Shows: Expanding the reach of your content so that it is accessible through other mediums can dramatically increase your level of authority in the industry. You are no longer just a network marketing, but you are a speaker, a teacher, a host and most of all viewed as an all-around expert!

Your Own Information Products

Products such as eBooks (look out for the launch of my new eBook  in the next few days!), membership sites, webinars and broadcasts and training courses come with an instant increase in authority, credibility and trust.  Publishing information products such as a high-quality eBook, video training course, or killer coaching program that over-delivers on value is a great way to build a kick-butt brand and I guarantee some good things can manifest as a result.

Social Proof

You will hear a lot about this in our industry. The best kind of promotion is the promotion by others. I’m talking about your colleagues, your customers, and other successful leaders in the industry. Many of you, I’m sure, landed on my blog not because I asked you to, but because someone else you know recommended it to you. If you had no clue who I was and I sent you an email requesting that you visit my blog because I can show you how to build a profitable network marketing business on the Internet, chances are most of those email requests would have gone un-noticed or ended up in an email trash folder.

Recommendations and testimonials from others about you are much more powerful than recommendations of yourself, from yourself. That is why it’s important to not only focus internally on your brand, but externally as well – connecting heavily with other people and brands in your industry.  Don’t think of them as competitors, but as business opportunities and relationships.

How many times do you check out a movie because your friend  told you how great it is or you visit a restaurant because it had a great review in the local newspaper? Same idea.

So to recap:

  • Know that building a brand can truly solidify you as a credible, trustworthy source of information and having a kick-butt online presence will allow you to stand out among the noise as a recognizable expert in your industry who over-delivers on content and brings value to the community in a unique way.
  • Let people get to know the real you, share stories and engage your audience. Be transparent and take the time to build relationships with your viewers, readers, subscribers and customers. They’ll reward you for it in the long run by being loyal and even buying a product or two from you, just because they like you!
  • Leverage your content, expand into other areas and establish your own worth in the industry by creating your own information products tailored specifically to meet the needs of your target market.

Be confident in the fact that you are unique and their is no one on this planet that can deliver content to the Internet  network marketing community the same way as you! When you know your worth, others will too!

Four Reasons Why Having A Kick-Butt Brand Is Essential For Any Home-Based Business

November 9, 2010 9 comments

There is no escaping the fact that every successful business, regardless of it’s a home-based business or a super-goliath corporation, has built it’s foundation on an appealing, recognizable, and unique brand OR what I like to call a Kick-Butt Brand!  Successful branding enables the business owner to create a consciousness that people can easily associate a product or service with. That’s why having a unique and recognizable brand, is so important to the success of any home-based business. Branding is not just the company’s logo, it is also the company’s face to the world; thus, a business without a brand is a business without a face.

There are many reasons why it is imperative a business, large or small, should create its own brand, but here I have listed four of my top reasons below as to why branding is essential to the success and survival of for your home-based business.

  • A great brand conveys a clear message. Very few business owners are aware that good branding is actually a great method of communication. If the design of the brand is right, it can convey a powerful message to the customers even without the help of an expensive advertising campaign. That is why it is so very important to do extensive research with respect to the needs of the customers to create a brand that is not only targeted to suit to their needs, but can also deliver a message to them. When a bond is developed, the customers are no longer just customers but loyal clients.
  • A great brand creates credibility. For many business owners, credibility is a process, not something that is developed overnight. Business owners must provide and maintain a product or service that continues to be innovative and delivers on the promised excellence they’ve committed to providing the customer. As the credibility of the company grows, the clients can easily associate the brand with the company. When the brand is engrained in the minds of the people, the credibility of the company began to be established.
  • A great brand can create a bond between the product and the clientele. In almost all cases, people can easily find a connection with their favorite brands, in a feeling, a memory, a sense of satisfaction. This is simply because in all areas of human life, good products and services have become the silent witnesses of their success and failures in life. This is how powerful a brand is to a company. In fact, a well-thought of brand can establish a strong tie between the company and the countless clients who are continuing to use the company’s products and services.
  • A great brand helps motivate the buyer. Branding helps develop connections between the product and the clients. When the connection is strong, the brand can be a good motivator for the clients to continuously purchase the products or services. This is one of the amazing results of the relationship between the company and the clients. This is only possible, however, if the company has a unique and appealing brand that people can easily associate themselves with.

Without a doubt, there are many other ways to become successful in any business endeavor, but there is nothing more certain than having a recognizable and unique brand that customers and clients alike can easily associate themselves with. The importance of having a brand is the key to having a successful home-based business.
