Effective Affiliate Marketing Tips
I have gotten a lot of inquiries lately from readers that want to know the ins-and-outs when it comes to affiliate marketing on your blog. That’s why you may have noticed I’ve put together a series of posts recently outlining the principles I use to promote affiliate links on my blog. My way is not the only way, but it is what works best for me.
1. Affiliate Marketing 101
We’ve all heard the phrase, don’t judge a book by it’s cover, right?! We’ll that doesn’t apply when it comes to your website. First impressions are huge and being that you only have about 13 seconds to capture your visitors attention, you need to make it a priority to set the tone for a visitor’s experience on your blog. You don’t want your visitors first impression of your blog to be, WOW, How much money is she trying to get out of me today?…This is what people may think if your blog has banner ads and advertisements in every nook and cranny.
What if you went on a date with someone for the first time and the very first thing out of their mouth was…”Nice to meet you, wanna buy something from me.” What a turn off. I’m sure there will be no 2nd date.
People buy from those they know, like and trust and I’d personally rather buy from someone I know than some random stranger. You have to be genuinely interested in that person first to be genuinely interested in what they have to offer you.
2. Promote Affiliate Products That You Have Used
I’ve mentioned this on previous posts and on my affiliate disclaimer page, the way I earn money with affiliate links is that I only recommend products that I have used or am currently using. It is responsible and the right way to market affiliate products. It’s kinda of shady, in my opinion, for someone to marketing Blackberrys when they only use an iPhone.
3. Describe Your Affiliate Products
If you are actively promoting a particular affiliate product you should be able to give a description about it’s benefits because you’ve personally used it right? So I encourage you to share your experience and knowledge with your readers.When describing your affiliate products throw in results or supporting data if you can. By doing so they will be more likely to click on your ad or link to learn more about how that product can help them.
4. Lead With Value…Affiliate Link Second
Make sure the content you write is not just for the sake of placing an affiliate link in it. I have tried this in the past, writing a post with the intention of promoting or advertising the link and it does not work. People can see right past these types of posts. Always lead with value, with content and that will drive the affiliate links you offer.
5. Promote Affiliate Products That Are Related To Your Niche
You should only promote products that are related to your niche or area of expertise and never promote more than two of the same type of product. The more products you promote the less “stock” each one has. Also the more products you promote, the more difficult it becomes for people to make a decision. It’s kind of like going to Baskin Robbins and having 31 Flavors to chose from. If you give your readers a few options they don’t get overwhelmed with the decision of where to spend their money. Lastly when you continuously promote the same products, you readers will realize that there must be something special about these because you keep mentioning them.
6. Promote Affiliate Products That You Have Used
A resource or recommended tools page is a page that highlights useful links to websites, products or services related to your niche. This page is perfect for placing your affiliate links, so make sure to take advantage of this type of page if you have not done so already. Not only is this is great for you, it is of great value to your readers who may be looking for additional resources related to your niche. By making this page accessible on your blog your readers may even come across other products and services they were not necessarily looking for on your page but do need to take their business to the next level.

7. Promote Winning Affiliate Products
Only promote the products that you know make you the most money. You will only know which products are hot after trial and error and by looking at the products that are converting into sales. Any products that are not generating income should be dumped. There was a time where I had banner ads on my blog that were not generating any type of income for me. If they don’t pay out get rid of them, you don’t want affiliate ads just occupying valuable space. Testing is key when optimizing your affiliate income.
Affiliate marketing on your blog is a great source of passive residual income. Your content will be on the Internet for a long time along with any affiliate links you embed in your posts as well. I am huge on creating your own information products to create multiple streams on income online. A Resource Page
My resource page has been a top affiliate income page on The Gold Medal Marketer Blog. It lists a number of online tools and resources that I recommend, along with a brief description on the benefits of each. It helps people who are looking for solutions, and it helps me because I can make a passive residual income when visitors purchase through those affiliate links. It’s a great way of creating additional streams of income as well as building authority and trust with your readers.
Sidebar Banner Ads
If you look to the right of my blog you will see there are groups of (4) 125 x 125 pixel banner ads in the sidebar. These are all affiliate links to products and services I recommend. There is a debate among bloggers about the effectiveness and “tactfulness” of these banners and because they produce a significant amount of click-through and leads each month, in my opinion it is something I believe is beneficial and I choose to keep them on my blog.
What’s most important is that you do what feels comfortable for you and make sure you test and experiment! if the banner ads are not getting any clicks, or you are not making sales, dump them and try another. You want to make sure that the products you promote are not just taking up space on your blog but producing commissions for you.
Banner Ads Within Your Blog Posts
If you’ve read more than one of my blog posts, you may have noticed that I embed affiliate links into my posts on occasion. I’ll usually do this when I’m talking about a specific product or niche and there happens to be a specific product that I use that has an affiliate programs tied to it. Money should never be the intention behind any content that you write in your blog posts. However, money is the byproduct of continuously providing valuable content that is written with the intention of helping others.
Here are two ways to embed an affiliate link. Sometimes it will be noticeable other times it will be more discreet:

In Physical Products
If you are hosting a show, have a blog talk radio show or podcast, you can announce your affiliate link. No most affiliate links look somethign like this:
In this format it’s hard to say this link on a show and have everyone remember it unless they take the time to write it down or remember where it was in the book or audio you mentioned. To make it easier on everyone to take action you can instead purchase a nice looking domain that forward to that affiliate link. Purchase www.bestaffiliatewebsite.com and tell it to forward to the long,ugly link above. The new link is much easier to say and remember, it looks and sounds professional as well.
A Few Notes I Want To Leave You With
It is very important to make sure you are tracking your affiliate links. When you know what links are getting clicks and how many sales are coming you can have a full understanding on how successful your marketing campaign is. Knowing the results allows you to know what’s working and what is not helping you to make the necessary adjustments.

7 Quick Lessons For Increasing Your Affiliate Income
Lesson 1: Build A List
The real secret to increasing your affiliate income is: Build a list around a niche and promote products that solve their problems.
That’s really it!
You don’t need some fancy course or product to teach you how to do affiliate marketing or increase your affiliate income. All you need to have is a passion for the topic and a way to collect and capture contact information of people who share the same interest. It doesn’t matter if you are a blogger, a network marketers, affiliate marketer or product owner; the key to success online is to have a list that targets a specific niche.
Do not expect to just make a ton of money right off the bat. It takes months and even years to produce a sizable list and even more time to develop relationships with your subscribers so that they feel like they trust your recommendations. It is important to always maintain some form of regular and contact with your subscribers .
Affiliate marketing can be profitable, but you need to build a list – one person at a time. I’ve build my list by creating content. I’ve worked hard writing articles, developing eBooks, and creating videos to attract people to this list.
Though it takes a lot of effort to generate interest for your site, listing building is the best way to make affiliate income online.
Now you may be a little overwhelmed by the amount of work it takes to build an affiliate business, but if you are able to build enough subscribers, you can practically create money on demand. When you discover a quality offer that will be of value to your list all you have to do is whip up a quick email and you’ll generate an income.
An email list is an incredible asset. The key is to be careful with this asset. Give lots of value to your subscribers and make sure to only promote affiliate products when you think it will significantly change their lives.
The real money in affiliate marketing comes from building a lists of fans who act upon your recommendations. As we all know the best prospects are the ones that actually buy stuff. I’ll talk about how to make this happen in the next lessons…
Lesson 2: Lead With Value
A responsive list begins and ends with your content.
You can command any market by being a master at providing value and great content. This includes the FREE content and offers you create as well.
To ensure you are always leading with value consider these 3 steps:
1. The Irresistible Offer
Offer a stellar freebie as a way to get people to subscribe. You have to give to get! Your irresistible offer is known as you “lead magnet” and it can be a free how-to video course, a set of audios, a PDF report, a webinar series or eBook.
The important thing to remember is that your free offer should overwhelm your subscriber with value. I can not emphasize how important this principle this. When creating your irresistible offer, you should actually feel like you are giving away too much information.
When you are done putting together your offer create a product you could charge for, then give it away for FREE.
Your irresistible offer is a critical component to your success as an affiliate marketer and that’s why you need to make sure you know everything you can about doing business online as an affiliate marketer. Here are two resources to get your started:

2. Build Your Brand With Your Personality
People buy from those they know, like and trust. When you connect with your subscribers and come from a genuine place you instantly create rapport with your readers. Whenever you are writing an email or creating content, talk to your readers like you are speaking to them directly over a cup of coffee. This is a great way to make subscribers feel like they are getting an email from one of their friends.
How can you showcase your personality:
Be genuine, candid and transparent.
Tell interesting stories and have fun
Provide inspirational and motivational messages
Share your pains, challenges and struggles
Talk in a conversational tone
Give readers insight into what is going on in your life
All of these actions will help you to be seen as a real person instead of some random Internet marketer. The more ‘real’ you are, the more your readers will learn to trust what you have to say.
3. Send Quality Emails
Understand that you are not the only marketer out there vying for prospects attention. You will come to realize that the pond is smaller than you actually think, especially among high quality Internet marketers. Those that find success in online maximize on their ability to connect with their list, those that don’t are faced with Internet failure.
As easy as it is for people to opt-in and subscribe to your list, it is even easier for them to unsubscribe from it. Your first priority is giving them what they want, making sure they are happy and look forward to reading your email messages. The best way to be successful as an affiliate marketer is to send high quality, value packed emails every day (or at least 5 days a week). Now you may say this sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn’t. The key to creating a great email is to re-purpose your best content or send an email that links to a video or one of your popular blog posts. Sending subscribers an eBook, worksheet, or step-by-step video tutorial is a great way to provide them with solutions to some of your readers most challenging problems.
Lesson 3: Test Various Offers
People get BORED very quickly! One of the biggest mistakes and one that took me a little while to realize is that you can not and should not keep sending the same offers to your subscribers.
You should rotate your collection of offers and introduce new ones that you can promote on a regular basis. You do not want to send your list the same promotion every week. Why? They’ve either purchased the product or they haven’t and if they are not purchasing the product on email # 10, they are not going to purchase it from you on email #110. Don’t make the same mistake I did by not regularly introducing new products into your affiliate line-up. This can significantly increase your bottom line.
I suggest introducing a new product to your list every month.
Note: You still want to promote the affiliate products that are popular, bringing in money and are of great value but it’s just as important to add some “new flavor” to your affiliate arsenal, because you just never know what your list is going to love. So test different offers, see which ones attract the most attention. Get rid of any offers that your subscribers “don’t respond to” but every once in a while try re-introducing them…the composition of you email list can change and what doesn’t work today may be your biggest seller tomorrow.
Lesson 4: Promote and Market Great Products
To piggy-back on lesson # 3 I do want to mention this. Do not promote just anything. Do not promote products just because they make money…
Promote Products That You Believe In and that solves the troubles the majority of your niche faces. You should always think about your subscribers first, the money should be an afterthought. What is most important is that you recognize a need and fulfill that need. So only look for quality products.
To go one step further, take a close look at the income potential of the affiliate products you are considering. Make sure the products you are promoting have the following:
A high-converting sales pages
A sales funnel that upsales the customer or has a back-end offer
A users friendly affiliate system
Affiliate tools and marketing resources to help you make more sales
You ultimate goal is to make money, you are not an affiliate marketer that is volunteering your service just for the fun of it. Make sure your affiliate offers meet these criteria so that you are presenting your lists with the best of the best. It will pay off in the long run and it will definitely have an incredible impact on your affiliate earnings!
Lesson 5: Short and Sweet
When it comes time to present your offer to your email list, keep it short and sweet. You don’t have to write a long dissertation trying to convince your readers to purchase the product. You’ve laid the foundation of trust through the valuable content you provide and you’re subscribers should know that you are a reliable source of useful information.
All you need to do is write a simple email that highlights one or 2 benefits then provide the link to the affiliate product. If you’re list is responsive that’s all it takes. If you’ve trained your list to act on your emails because you’ve consistently provided them with value and information that gets them results, you should not have to spend a lot of time putting together an affiliate offer. The work comes in building the relationships. Once this is done all you need to do is drive your list to the affiliate offer and let the sales presentation do the job.
Lesson 6: The Money Is In The Follow-Up
If you get a good response from the first affiliate email offer, send another one. You must learn to follow-up with your list when you have successful campaigns. If an email works, then make sure it gets to the front of your autoresponder sequence. The secret to success in this industry and any other is to stick with what works and chuck the rest. Duplicate what’s working for you and make sure to send it to as many people on your lists as possible.
Lesson 7: Be Consistent
It is very important to capitalize on your results to maximize your affiliate income. When you discover an affiliate product that convert well it is imperative to build on that success by taking immediate and swift action. Don’t sit on the fence while all of the other Internet marketers take your sales. Make sure to promote your product aggressively using every marketing technique you know. Take advantage of the following:
Social media marketing
Article marketing
Video Marketing
Create content that leverages niche-specific keywords
If you are going to build an affiliate income that is worth taking about, you need to make sure you are doing everything you can to maximize your success. Is it hard work yes, but if you are able to develop a system that gets you results, duplicate it, be consistent and build your affiliate business on step at a time.

You have just joined a new network marketing company, you’re confident this business opportunity is the one, your golden ticket on the train to financial freedom, the business that will make all of your money problems go away – or at least allow you to escape the 9 to 5!
Well let’s fast-forward 2 years; there is a great chance, 97% to be exact, that your great business opportunity will have gotten you no closer to your dreams, you will still be at that job you hate trading time for money and you’re continuing to struggle to make more money than month. So what is the difference, then, between the 97% of internet marketers who fail and the 3% who succeed? I want to let you in on a little secret today. Something that has really changed the way I approach my network marketing business. Here are 3 pitfalls that can derail even the most motivated internet network marketer.
1. YOU GET SUCKED INTO THE GURU VACUUM
You are now a business owner and you’re super excited. You are obsessed with finding information on how to promote your business and getting the word out. So what do you do? You seek out all of the industry “gurus” and see what they have that will put you on the fast track to success. You read about a weekend mastery course that’s going to explode your business so you decide to attend. Then before you even get a chance to implement all of that life-changing information, you’re invited to another seminar… You think, oh my gosh, I have to have this one too, this will really get me on track…so you purchase a ticket for this one (and you bring a friend too because they where so nice to give you a FREE ticket for your $97 investment)…and the cycle goes on and on and on….
You are so worried about learning everything, getting up to par, discovering every secret there is that before long you’re getting hundreds of emails a day from “gurus”, you are a part of 30 different networking sites and you’re spending the majority of your time reading newsletters, e-books, free reports and attending seminars – instead of building your business and getting customers.
Let me whisper something in your ear – There will always be something new, more cutting-edge, or more-exciting that guarantees you’ll be making a thousand bucks a day by the end of the week. It is very easy to get sucked in to the “Guru Vacuum” if you do not have a system for success, i.e. a well thought out business map. Ask yourself these questions: What is my system for generating qualified leads? Who is my target audience? How will I get customers? How will I fund my marketing efforts?
Once you have mapped out a plan for how you intend to make money in this industry, you can easily separate the trash from the treasure and pinpoint exactly what you need to. If you feel like you are missing out on a golden opportunity, believe me their will be another offer right around the corner. These gurus are not going to stop selling their products because you decided to pass on it and you won’t die if you don’t buy it right this minute. I promise you!
Here’s how to I avoid getting sucked in to the Guru Vacuum: I will not buy another product until I have completely read or watched the first one and actually implemented the action steps. If I haven’t read, watched and implemented I don’t spend another dime. It’s easy to buy, buy, buy and not be cognizant of the return your getting on your educational investment!
2. YOUR TARGET MARKET IS…WELL “EVERYONE”
The biggest reason why there is a “reported” 97% failure rate in the network marketing industry is because new marketers fail to define their target market. Personally I have learned to focus my marketing efforts on EXISTING network and internet marketers as well as professionals. WHY? Because they already have a relatively good idea about what it’s going to take to succeed. They will not be scared of working hard and they already have some selling experience. Now whether they are good at it or not is a different story but that is why you need to take the time to determine if your prospect is a good fit for your organization. You do know you have a choice in who you work with right? You know that you don’t have to work with everybody?
Here’s how to avoid the urge of recruiting anyone with a pulse: Think about it this way. If you are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, there are positions you need to fill, VP, Director, Manager, etc. You want to build a team that is capable of producing the type of results you want. You wouldn’t necessarily “hire” a burger flipper to run a million dollar business (no offense to the burger flippers) but you get my point right! Think of your million dollar business in the same way.

Yours may be different. You may want to go after work at home moms, or college graduates that can’t find a job, or freelancers who make less money and work longer hours than they did at their “real job”. Having a clearly defined target market allows you to quickly and effectively network with the right type of people for your business. It also puts your friends, family and colleagues on notice for the type of people you want to work with so they can send you leads that fit your criteria. You see, when you go out into the marketplace and start prospecting and sharing your products and opportunity with anything that breathes…you might as well walk around with a huge billboard that screams “I’M AN AMATEUR!”
If you find you are recruiting people into your business but your organization is not growing, you may want to look at the type of people you are recruiting and make an adjustment when scouting your potential business partners.
2. YOU DON’T GIVE YOUR TARGET MARKET WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR
One very BASIC principle of marketing is to always give your TARGET MARKET exactly what it is they are looking for. If your target market are professionals and internet marketers they want to make money. Ever wondered which WordPress plugins are essential for internet marketing success? Which Plugins will help you to generate more leads, make more money online and really create a kick-butt blog? Out of the thousands and thousands of plugins for WordPress blogs, there are few standouts that you should get your hands on to maximize your efficiency and money making potential.
You don’t have to have the fanciest blog on the web, but there are some essential wordpress plugins you’ll want to make sure you have for Internet Marketing Success. Some of these may be familiar and some may be new to you, but here are my Top 10 Faves.
Essential WordPress Plugins
1.All in One SEO Pack: This plugin helps with the search engine optimization of your site by allowing you to edit the title, description and keywords for your website, in addition to your individual blog posts.
Also, you don’t just want to install this plugin, you need to make it work at peak performance, so here are a few recommendations for settings that you can use with the All in One SEO Pack plugin to efficiently maximize the SEO benefits for your own blog.
Here is a snapshot of my All in One SEO settings area: You’ll see something similar once you install the plugin.
Home Title: This is the meta title on your homepage. This will be the title that everyone will see in their browser. Your title should essentially be the brand name (The Gold Medal Marketer) and a tagline. Make sure it is under 60 characters and user-friendly, something someone would actually type into a search.
Home Description: Also called a meta description, it is right under the title and should be less than 160 characters so you see the full description. Used solely by the search engines, most users will not even see this when they browse your site. Take your time and really think about how your craft your description to make sure you have the right keywords added.
Home Keywords: This is where you’ll add targeted keywords. Separate them by commas and do research on yourkeywordsbefore using them.
Individual Post Settings: In your post panel you will see a tab that says All in One SEO Pack and it looks like this: Follow the same guidelines for title, home description and keywords to maximize the benefits.
2. RSS Footer: This awesome plugin allows you to engage readers who are actually not reading your posts from your website but in a feed like Google reader. So usually when people get finished reading your content they move on to whatever it is they want to do with their lives. Unless you tell them specifically what to do next, more often than not they’ll do nothing. Well the whole purpose of having a blog is to get your reader to take some type of action or interact and this is why this plugin is so awesome. You can create a short note at the bottom of the RSS feed that asks your reader to leave a comment, become a Facebook Fan or Twitter follower, or you can just say thank you for being such a loyal reader and connect them to a free report. Love this one =)
3. TubePress: I was looking for a cool way to showcase my videos and tutorials on my blog when I came across this kick-butt plugin. I am still working on setting it up but this plugin is killer and it will allow you to create a video gallery on your blog, pulling videos from your Youtube or Vimeo account. You can put your video gallery in a post, page or on the sidebar of your blog. But in the meantime, here is a sample of what it will look like. Pretty sweet huh!
4. Aweber Web Form Plugin: This plugin is new from Aweber. This plugin allows you to take web forms you’ve already created in your Aweber account and just drag and drop them onto your blog without having to actually log-in to your Aweber account and copy and paste the html code. Making life super simple.
5. MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate: This kick-butt tool from MBP Affiliate is a must have for any Internet marketer or blogger who has the INTENT to make money with their blog. There is a common thread among 6 figure earners on the Internet and I found that one of their money making secrets is to sprinkle their blog with what I like to call “Silent Pitch Links” or links that take the reader to a tool, product or service that you want them to see. It could be a link to an affiliate product you promote, or your own e-book, you can even connect them to a free report you generated.
Ninja Affiliate is a WordPress Plugin that will automatically convert keywords and phrases into affiliate links. Not only can it convert keywords into affiliate links it comes with a pretty sweet Affiliate Marketing system that helps you manage and track your affiliate marketing campaigns. The point to remember is that we are in the business of making money, not working a non-profit blog, and the goal is to provide overwhelming value in every post you write WITHOUT having to pitch or scream “buy my product, buy my product.” The power in this tool is that it automatically monetizes every single post you’ll ever write for you while you can concentrate on providing value to your readers. Now you DO NOT want to spam your blog with links (be tasteful and tactful) but if you want to STOP leaving money on the table, here it is!
6. Broken Link Checker: This plugin is pretty nice and another must have. What it does is crawls your entire blog and reports any broken links or images. A broken link could be a link that’s dead and doesn’t work (you may have typed the URL incorrectly) or it could be a link to a page that no longer exists. Once you install and activate this plugin it sweeps up all the junk links -kinda of like a maid for your blog.
7. Akismet: This tool is like Kryptonite for spam. It will keep your blog from being inundated with spammy comments. Already installed when you setup WordPress, you will need to get a API to enable this tool. Simply follow the directions provided once you activate the plugin and you’ll be good to go.
8. WordPress Database Backup: After hearing horror stories from people who did not take the time to back-up their content I found this plugin that will automatically send me an email that has a backup file of my WordPress blog every single day. Technology is great but hey, stuff happens, so take the time to backup now so you won’t be crying later!
9. Thank Me Later: This plugin is a great way to engage readers who have left comments on your blog and to encourage or remind them to come back to your site. Thank Me Later (TML) will automatically send an e-mail to those who leave a comment on your blog. Use this plugin to say ‘Thanks’ to your visitors, and prompt them to further engage with your blog. This is a great way to draw people back to your blog and get repeat readers.
10. Google XML Sitemap: This is just great for those of you that don’t want to get your hands dirty with some additional coding. It basically allows you to create an xml sitemap which you can add to your blog. This is great because it helps with SEO allowing the search engines to index your site a lot easier. It is definitely a big time saver and is a worthy tool to incorporate on your site.
I know I said I was giving you 10 but here are 2 more that I just couldn’t leave these off the list!
11. Audio Player: This plugin allows you to include a podcast and other types of audio media to your blog. It has a sleek look and you can easily configure and customize it to match the theme of your site. Pretty cool if you want to upload interviews.
12.WPtouch Plugin: Always staying ahead of the trends, you are going to want this plugin if you want the new generation of smart phone users to gain access to your site. This plugin takes all of your site’s content and makes it nice and pretty for any smart phone user that comes across your site. WpTouch allows integration with all major players: Apple, Android and Blackberry to name a few..Mobile Marketing here we come!

Are you a blogger or owner of a website? If so, you can turn that passion into profits by doing reviews and promoting links of various products and services on your site. This concept is called Affiliate marketing and it is a moneymaker for those looking to generate some cash-flow online.
Affiliate marketing is ideal for those who have a large network or followers. This marketing technique promotes someone else’s product or service and you in turn make a commission off of each sale you make. For example, it a customer clicks on a product banner ad or link that was found on your website, or if someone makes a purchase based on your recommendation, then you will earn a fixed amount of commission from that sale. The commission usually turns out to be a percentage of the actually sale but can also be a flat rate. What’s super cool about affiliate marketing is that you are basically earning money by maintaining your website or blog and placing the banner or product ads in strategic places on your site. They key here however is to drive as much traffic and as many visitors as you can to your site. WHY? Because the more visitors, the more potential clicks on your links and more clicks tend to lead to increased sales resulting in more money.
Though it is recommended you have your own site, it is not necessary. You can still be an affiliate marketer by writing reviews of products and services and posting them on different advertising sites like e-Bay, Amazon, and even the website of company’s products you are promoting.
If you want to be an affiliate marketer, but don’t own your own website or blog, what you need to do is sign up or register with marketing companies that have affiliate marketing networks. Membership iis typically free and once you are accepted as an affiliate you will then be given links, banner ads and other promotional items that you can use. One word of advise, do your research and choose credible and well-established marketing companies that can give you efficient and attractive links and banner ads. Your name is all you have and you do not want to jeopardize your credibility because you are representing something that is not legit.
There are three ways in which you can make a substantial amount of money from affiliate marketing. The first is by posting ads and reviews on your website or blog, a method called Ad Revenue Sharing. Specifically, through AdSense (which is for free!) you can feature Google Ads on your site and when someone clicks on these ads, Google Ads would pay you a small fee…and though it may seem like a small amount, a little bit turns into a whole lot as it accumulates over time.
The second way to generate income is through cost-per-sale or CPS. In this method, you earn a commission when someone buys a product because of the links and reviews that you have provided. The good thing about CPS is that you simply direct the interested party to the websites that directly sell the product and it’s as easy as that. You earn a commission every time a customer makes a purchase.
Third is through cost-per-action or CPA. This method means that you are supposed to persuade someone to take a specific action such as completing a survey, subscribing to free newsletter, filling out an application or completing a trial offer. You earn a small sum of money each time they successfully perform such actions, however, since no money was spent, nothing was purchased, the commissions that you potentially earn are generally less than the CPS. But since there is no purchase necessary, most people are willing to complete the CPA offers over the CPS offers which actually requires them to fork over some cash. So don’t disregard the CPA method when considering you affiliate marketing strategies.
So now that you have a better understanding of the different ways to get into affiliate marketing, do your due-diligence and research the endless amount of ways of promoting a product! Aside from writing a review and creating a link, you can also try making a video, writing an ad and sending e-mails your friends and clients. So, go out and explore the life of an affiliate marketer and take advantage of the Power or The Internet. you’ll be surprised at how much it has to offer!

While making money with your blog may not be your first priority (and it shouldn’t be) implementing some very simple tips will allow you to effectively do affiliate marketing on your blog without being overly aggressive.
