Blog Launch: Free Resources For Beginner Network Marketing Bloggers

Posted on April 21, 2011

blog launchMost marketers who want to launch a network marketing blog run in to the following obstacles: They are not extremely tech savvy and they have limited financial resources.

If you are an internet or network marketer who still hasn’t launched your blog because you feel overwhelmed by all of the technical aspects of pulling it off, I hope today’s post helps you get off the scary train. I am going to outline for you where you should be spending your money, where you can cut costs, plus give you some free and low cost resources that you can use to help you launch your blog successfully!

When I first started my network marketing blog late last year, I often felt overwhelmed, confused and at times downright frustrated. It felt like I was running in circles, constantly working on a blog that was not materializing into the branding “hub” and income profit center I envisioned. After spending many sleepless nights getting by blog all set up (and it is still a work in progress)

Your blog is the most important piece of real estate you have on the internet. It is the one place where people come to get to know you and learn about what you do.  Your network marketing blog is the place to showcase your content, your message your business opportunity and the value you share with the community.

I talk to so many network marketers who have spent months “getting around” to launching their blog. I spend hours on the phone with other marketers who have no clue where to start. Obviously, setting up a blog is a HUGE challenge for many marketers, and I want to help you conquer that hurdle.

There are some components to launching your blog that you will have to pay for even and where you’re money will be well spent but there are other aspects where you are keep your money in your pocket.

I’m going to outline for you those component in this post as well as supply you with resources to help you launch your blog successfully without wasting your hard earned money.

Key Components To A Successful Blog Launch: Things You’ll Have To Buy

Domain Name: My top pick is GoDaddy. I personally use GoDaddy for all of my domain name needs. Your domain name can be any thing that represents you and your brand. My recommendation is to always purchase your name, even if you are going to call your site something else, so that you can start promoting and branding yourself online and using your name as a link to your blog website.

  • Cost: $15 a year

Note: You can do a Google search for “GoDaddy discount codes” that you can apply to your order. I personally use the code from FatWallet.com: Click Here To Get Your Code

Hosting: I have referred many people to Hostgator and all of them are happy. Plus, you can’t beat the price! They have incredible customer support.

Autoresponder: There are many autoresponder companies but my preference for most network marketers is Aweber. They are reliable and east to use, plus their customer support is awesome!

  • Cost: It will cost you $1 for the first month and then prices vary depending on the seize of your list, starting at $19/month.

I just discovered IMToolSuite which is a company that offers all of the tools an internet or network marketing would need to build their business online, including video email, squeeze pages, webinars, autoresponders and more all in one low cost, affordable package. It contains many more features that may be beneficial to you. If you;re looking at doing video and webinars, it will probably be more economical choice in the long run.

  • Cost: $67 per month ($7 1 week trial)

Key Components To A Successful Blog Launch: Things You Can Save Money On

If you are working with a limited budget launching a blog using wordpress is super inexpensive, once you’ve taken care of the key components above. There may come a time where you’ll want to pay for a professional theme and graphics but the following suggestions will get you out of the gate without breaking the bank.

Themes: Luckily for you, there are a TONS of free wordpress blog themes for you to choose from. Google “free wordpress themes” for a ton of resources.

Banners and Headers: I recommend included a professional photo to help you brand yourself as well as the name of your blog. The list of websites below provide a vast selection of generic hears that you can download and customize. If you are familiar with Photoshop you can use it but you can also start off using PowerPoint or Microsfot publisher which comes standard on most computers.

Select a background you like, layer on top of it your photo, a tag-line, and/or signature. When you are satisfied with your design you group all of the items together, right click and save as a photo. I recommend saving it as a .png because they tend to show up online with better resolution.

A low cost option (and one of my favorite sites) is Fiverr.com. Sign up for a free account, do a search for blog banner, header or blog graphics to find potential graphic designers…and the best part, everything is $5!!!

Your Irresitiable Offer: I wrote a post recently called You Have To Give To Get which discusses the importance of providing a free or irresiatable offer to give away to entice your blog readers to subscribe or opt-in to you email list. Your free offer can be in the form of a Free report, and eBook, an audio (you can use freeconferenceall.com to record an audio from your phone or you can use audacity to record to your computer with a microphone) or a video. You can upload a video series to youtube usign teh price video option and embedd it onto your blog fro your free gift or you are record your screensharing video using camstudio or jing (free). Use a webcam or flip camera such as a Kodak Zi8 to record video of yourself.
